CHAMPAGNE MAILLY GRAND CRU IS NOW B CORP™ CERTIFIED

Mailly Grand Cru joins the B Corp™ community, a global certification that recognises companies sharing the same vision: to be part of a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem. This movement, one of the most rigorous, validates the responsible and virtuous conduct upheld by the Société de Producteurs de Mailly-Champagne for nearly a century. Mailly Grand Cru thus becomes the first Champagne cooperative to receive this certification.

A UNIQUE COOPERATIVE MODEL SINCE 1929

Since its foundation in 1929, Mailly Grand Cru has distinguished itself as a wine cooperative like no other. Our vineyards are exclusively located in the village of Mailly-Champagne, one of the 17 villages elevated to Champagne Grand Cru designation: 70 hectares on the northern face of the Montagne de Reims, passionately worked today by 80 winegrowers.

This collective organisation produces champagnes that are recognised and appreciated internationally. More than just a production site, the estate is based on a fair model, driven by transmission, rigour and a spirit of innovation.

B CORP™: GLOBAL, IMPACTFUL AND SUSTAINABLE

The B Corp™ certification recognises companies that meet strict standards for positive impact on social, societal, and environmental issues. The rigorous evaluation process is based on five key pillars: governance, employees, the environment, the community, and customers.

This certification is part of a process of continuous improvement and transparency for Mailly Grand Cru, which maintains and reinforces its commitments around four essential missions:

Mission 1: Preserving and enhancing our land

Mission 2: Sustainable production

Mission 3: A people centred business culture

Mission 4: Collective action

"Our approach centres on cooperative and responsible governance, in the service of an independent business that has been run collectively by winegrowers since the company was first established. Our Articles of Association have been modified to include our “raison d’être” and ensure that we keep to our commitments, a change unanimously approved by all our winegrowers." Stéphane Remy, Mailly Grand Cru’s President

RECOGNITION OF A COMMITMENT TO CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

B Corp™ celebrates actions already underway and raises the bar even higher for the years to come. Mailly Grand Cru is pledged to stay the course, with our sights set on achieving ambitious objectives by 2029 related to its 4 missions.

"This demanding certification, which has fully mobilised our team, is the culmination of more than two years of work. This recognition commits us to a path of continuous improvement and reinforces our desire to work collectively, with high standards, to produce a meaningful Champagne." Xavier Millard, Mailly Grand Cru’s Director

This certification will be renewed every three years, with the aim of achieving steady progress through the implementation of key indicators that enable progress to be measured and shared clearly.
